Hyatt Place Gainesville Downtown -- A Good Option
We have been travelling to Gainesville since one of our sons goes to University of Florida. One of our favorite choices is Hyatt Place Gainesville Downtown
The Hyatt Place Gainesville Downtown is a nice hotel that has been recently renovated. They have kept the hotel clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. We also loved the location since it is near a bunch of specialty shops, good restaurants and bars. It is located just a short distance from the campus.
As to the amenities that we like, they had a nice gym that was open all day and the breakfast buffet was a good way to start the day.
The downside of the hotel was the lack of parking since you were in the downtown area. Basically, you needed to valet park your car for $35 a night. Street parking was limited and difficult to find a spot. Hard to justify the valet fee outside of football weekends. Needless to say they do not have any EV charging.
The other downside to the Hyatt Place Gainesville Downtown is the cost. Outside of peak times, you can get a room for as little as $138 a night. But for peak times (like football weekends), the pricing becomes cost prohibitive.
We recommend the Hyatt Place Gainesville Downtown for its friendly staff, renovated rooms and great location with the caveat that it can be downright costly to stay there.
