I was reading a press release issued by the TSA that announced that it had confiscated 3,269 firearms during the first 6 months of 2024. It started to make me think about what other things are confiscated by the TSA and found this article by CBS News. The most interesting item to me was the bag of snakes.

After going down this rabbit hole, I wanted to see the strange things permitted to be brought on board by the TSA. I found the TSA’s What Can I Bring site. From this I have included some interesting items that they speak about.

What I found most interesting is that the TSA has determined that Hummus, Peanut Butter and Yogurt are liquids. While I can understand Yogurt, it seems a stretch to classify Peanut Butter as a liquid (and subject to the 3.4 ounce limitation).
